Interview with Bruce Kerfoot, Co-owner of Gunflint Lodge

The Kerfoot family pioneered at Gunflint back in 1928 and opened a small fishing camp, with their only neighbors being the local Chippewa people.  Over the years Gunflint has grown into a year around full service lodge, with a focus on matching top quality service with nature in an eco friendly way. Currently the 3rd generation of the family, Bruce and Sue Kerfoot, are your hosts. Bruce took his studies at the Hotel School at Cornell University and has used some of that learning to grow Gunflint in a unique way, reminding guests that we are all visitors in a beautiful wilderness. The true natives are the moose, deer, wolves, beaver, eagles, etc. Gunflint has developed a soft imprint on the lands and waters, featuring silent sports in many ways, from guided naturalist activities, to canoeing, to dog sledding and cross country skiing.
