There’s nothing more beautiful than natural wood: unvarnished, lightly adorned, and directly from the forest. Wood is neutral in color so it will complement any palette. Of course, many products on the market are made from felled trees, trees that would have lived for a hundred more years, towering high above. Instead, look for wedding products made from trees that have already fallen. Harvesting this wood doesn’t hurt the ecosystem. In fact, in many cases it frees up space for new growth, reinvigorating the forest with life. Here are some beautiful eco-friendly wood products made from found and scavenged trees. You can also get out there and scavenge your own! Just make sure you’re not bringing any invasive pests to your wedding along with your harvest (beware the emerald ash borer, for example).
