Why We Love It

The handsome naturally striated larchwood used in creating these beautiful ‘end grain’ cutting boards comes from Eastern Canada. The end grain construction provides a tough surface that still preserves the fine edges of knives. The larchwood is kiln dried, and highly durable. Eastern Canadian larch trees grows in abundance in Cape Breton and are traditionally used in boat building and other exterior applications such as decking and fence posts. Larchwood is noted for its rot resistance, strength and ability to neutralize bacteria.

The FSC program offers customers around the world the ability to choose socially and environmentally responsible alternatives.
