Real Green Weddings
Miri Levi and Hank Becker were married on January 18th, 2009, in New York.
Miri Levi and Hank Becker were married on January 18th, 2009, in the Palm House at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens.
About the Couple
Hank works for the Alexander Graham Bell Association helping teachers and therapists get certified to work with deaf children. Miri is an opera singer, and is also pursuing a career as a nurse-midwife.
The couple met through Habonim Dror, a youth-movement that supports making green choices. "We spent many summers at camps enjoying the beauty of nature." Because of this, Hank and Miri strongly support environmental causes, and were committed to lessening the impact of their wedding.
Since Miri is from Canada, the couple wanted to be sure they could share their special day with all of their family and friends. To this end, they decided to have two celebrations, one in New York, and the second one at the Brock House Restaurant in Vancouver.
