The reception was held in the "Great Hall" of the Wild Center, where guests were encouraged to view the exhibits. This, along with the stunning natural beauty of the Adirondacks, eliminated the need for additional reception decor.
The Wild Center, as a venue, makes every effort to assist couples in planning a sustainable event. They provided Brittany and Sean with a list of local eco-friendly vendors, supplied the linens, took care of recycling and composting after the wedding, and even assisted in the purchasing of carbon offsets for the wedding to support alternative energy.
Ian O'Brien, caterer for the Wild Center, created a meal of local and organic foods. The beer and wine was also local, provided by Lake Placid Pub & Brewery and the Swedish Hill Vineyard & Winery. Sean and Brittany also served their guests locally roasted coffee from Adirondack Bean-To Coffee in Saranac Lake.
