With a little help from friends and family, the couple created handmade decorations, and came together to decorate the venue. Paper flowers were made with love and hung from the ceiling. Instead of using overhead lighting, the room was lit by recycled white Christmas lights accented with paper lanterns. This gave the room a romantic evening under the stars feel and saved energy.
Centerpieces were constructed using fallen tree branches, which were decorated with fake flowers hand glued by the bride and some friends. Crystals hung from the branches and reflected beautifully off the white lights of the reception hall to create a romantic feel. All vases were bought at local thrift stores to recycle and save money.
At the end of the night, guests were given pan dulce or “sweet bread” in brown paper bags tied with pink ribbon. The bride added a tag that said, “Sweet Dreams, Love Ryan and Steph” in hopes that their guests would enjoy the small pan dulce and a hot chocolate packet before going to sleep that night.
