Autumn Adventure: Dessert Reception
The festivities began with a dessert reception Friday night. Kate and Barry made all of the desserts themselves. "I love to bake, particularly when I am stressed, so the week before the wedding I baked up a storm. I went out of my way to use recipes from both sides of the family, including my husband's favorite - Bubby Lena's banana bread. I made sure to choose things that freeze well, so they would taste fresh. Although neither of us is vegan, my husband baked a vegan chocolate chocolate chip pound cake which was the hit of the party." He used the recipe in the Natural Menu Cookbook.
