Jackie and Dave cut wood rounds from fallen trees near his family cabin for their cake stands and cocktail hour centerpieces. They also had saved old Christmas trees in order to cut wood for the card holders.
Since their dinner tables at the reception had a recipe theme, they collected their favorite recipes and displayed them in the wooden card holders. Pre-owned picnic baskets were used as the card box and held their guestbook cards.
As for favors, the guests were given cookies made with love by the couple using the “Message in a Cookie” cutters from Williams-Sonoma for a personal touch. Jackie and Dave provided stamped, compostable paper bags to put the cookies in.
For the final green touch, their families tied organic vegetable cans onto their getaway car at the end of the reception.
