The couple made their DIY invitations from scratch. Jaymie is a papermaker and crafted the invitation paper using a cotton abaca blend with the help of her sister. They designed and wrote the invitations as well. For the envelopes, they embedded plantable wildflower seeds.
Jaymie and Zach were married at the YMCA Camp Arrowhead in Marlboro, New Jersey. The bride and groom were married outdoors under a reused chuppah made by a friend’s mother. The ceremony incorporated both their Quaker and Jewish backgrounds, and included traditions they felt best represented their union. It was also important to them to have close family and friends participate in the ceremony. A friend and fellow artist who knows Zach and Jaymie both as individuals and as a couple, officiated the wedding beautifully. The reception was in a pavilion at the same location, reducing carbon emissions.
To go along with their environmentally conscious wedding, Zach and Jaymie invited guests to camp out with them after the wedding. Zach, along with the bride and groom's friends, played music around a campfire all night until everyone retired to their tents.
