In addition to the potted herbs doing double duty as décor and favors, Jackie and Pete offered their guests another delicious and meaningful gift.
“We wanted to give party favors that were consumed and enjoyed rather than a gadget or item that sits in a box or gets thrown away,” says the couple. So, between batches of beer, they made eighty bottles of what they titled Three Generations Mead. “Mead is carbonated honey wine and also the origin of the word ‘honey moon'” explains Jackie. With that in mind, the couple designed a label that included the wedding years of Jackie's parents and grandparents, and their own.
Since their guests had so much to take with them, the bride and groom offered them Trader Joe's 100% PET-recycled reusable grocery bags with which to carry home their favors.
