Real Green Weddings
The couple chose to use live plants and herbs to decorate the reception area with the intent that their guests would bring them home afterward. They purchased three-inch pots of thyme, sage, oregano and mint from a local nursery a month before the wedding, kept the plants healthy at their home, and then transferred them into white pots with homemade garden stakes just before their celebration. The garden stakes were embellished with the messages “Take” “Plant” and “Enjoy!” These suggestions worked, because “our family and friends have some great herb gardens one year later!” enthuses the couple.
To conserve paper, Jackie and Pete used river stones for place cards.
