Real Green Weddings
All of the d?r for the wedding was rented, so nothing was thrown away at the end of the evening. The couple chose to not use any flowers except for the leis worn during the ceremony. To this end, they chose elegant candle fixtures as their centerpieces.
The couple also asked their guests not to bring "boxed gifts," and they instead gave the newlyweds gift cards or money. This is following an Indian tradition which also saves on wrapping paper and transporting the goods from the hotel to home.
