Real Green Weddings
Carly and Stephen chose to have both their ceremony and reception sites at a central location close to all of their guests. The bride tells us, “having everyone close not only makes it easier logistically, but it's cheaper AND greener.” The ceremony was held at University United Methodist Church, and the reception at The Austin Club. The venues were located within walking distance from each other, saving on transportation emissions.
When guests didn't have the option to walk, the couple worked with their hotels to provide mini-buses to the wedding events. The bride and groom themselves chose to ride in style on one of Austin's famous Pedi-Cabs for their “getaway car,” eliminating more emissions while experiencing a piece of Austin's rich culture.
