Stephanie had really hoped to have a wedding gown made from bamboo fiber, which is a sustainable material. Unfortunately, there were not any available in her area, and when she gauged the impact of several hours of associated travel and shipping, it made more sense to just buy a dress off the rack.
For her bridesmaids, Stephanie chose a gorgeous pink gown. "Even though most bridesmaids dresses never get worn again," she says, "my sister recycled hers with minor alterations, and has already worn her swanky cocktail dress again!"
