Hedda and Ben selected Coliseum Caterers, a Long Island catering company that provided the local, seasonal food at the reception. “They generally do big BBQ parties, and we decided they would be the perfect vibe for our low key affair,” Hedda says.
The couple also purchased bottles of local wine and provided kegs instead of bottled beer, cutting down on waste.
For a fun twist on dessert, Ben and Hedda served ice cream sandwiches instead of traditional wedding cake. As Hedda explains, “We did ice cream sandwiches partly because they're delicious, and also because cakes are so expensive and not our style. We also wanted to have something that would make it easy to save the leftovers.”
