Real Green Weddings
After attending many weddings and seeing bag after bag of garbage accumulate, MaryBeth knew that she did not want her wedding to be disposable. She and Justin sat down and discussed how they could generate as little trash as possible.
The couple chose to have real plates and silverware in order to throw away as little as they could. They also decided they would only buy or acquire used items for their wedding, including decorations, plates, utensils, vases, books, lights, and the like.
With the help of their parents, the couple planned a wedding celebration that truly reflected their eco-friendly views. “Every single detail meant something and had a story attached to how we got it…Every single thing was meaningful. We treated that day as we treat our life together: thoughtful, meaningful, practical and environmental,” the couple told us.
