To create the DIY escort cards, Alyson cut cardstock into squares and printed names and table numbers on clear stickers before attaching them. With a friend’s help, the bride glued old buttons into the center of colorful paper flowers, and put one in the corner of each card. To display, Alyson purchased some old wicker baskets from a local thrift store, filled them with red lentils, and placed the cards into the lentils.
The table numbers, another DIY project, were created from thirty small picture frames from thrift stores. The bride and groom printed out the table numbers in all different fonts and slipped them inside. To tie it all together, they glued a few button flowers onto the corners of each frame. Alyson also made a ‘bride’ and ‘groom’ frame for the head table. Later, she put pictures from the wedding into these flower frames and gave them out as gifts to their friends.
