Real Green Weddings
Keri and Michael, both huge food fans, used their menu as an opportunity to educate guests about the benefits of local and organic foods. They chose Blackstone Caterers, and served a variety of fresh, organically grown and locally produced foods. Many of their guests who thought this might mean the menu would be vegetarian, vegan, or unrecognizable were pleasantly surprised by an array of tasty meats, fishes, and veggies.
The wine and beer was also local. Newport Vineyards and Greenvale Vineyards, both right down the road from The Glen Manor House, provided the wine and champagne. Beer came from two local breweries, Newport Storm and Trinity Brewhouse.
The wedding cake was also organic. The couple worked closely with their baker, Sin Desserts, to find only the best ingredients. These included unbleached flour, cage-free organic eggs, hormone-free milk, and natural food colorings.
