Real Green Weddings
Keri and Michael carpooled with their parents to the house, rather than renting a limo. In addition, they hired a trolley from Rockstar Limo to transport guests from the hotel to the wedding and back. The trolley was an eco-friendly hybrid and near zero emission vehicle, running on Compressed Natural Gas.
The couple selected the NYLO Hotel in Warwick, RI for the bridal suite and for out-of-town and party guests to stay. Participating in a number of green business initiatives, the NYLO fit right into the green theme. The hotel uses recycled paper, and has its own line of bath and body products that come in recycled bottles and are biodegradable and DEA-free. The Loft, the hotel's restaurant and lounge, offers organic and bio-dynamically farmed alcoholic beverages, and food sourced from local farmers. Each floor has recycling bins for bottles and paper, and the wall art on display was all produced by a local artist. NYLO was also the first hotel in the state to open completely powered by renewable energy from local resources, and even offers "Pure Rooms" which are entirely allergy-free accommodations.
