Chuppah
The chuppah, or marriage canopy, that the couple was married under was also made by hand. Danya and her mother, Gayle Shapiro, sewed the design together. "My mom wanted a project that she could put some creative effort into because she wasn't making my dress. We thought about cycles: night and day, the life cycle, etc., and the trees and came up with this design."
