The bride and groom created a special space by encircling their chuppah in a ring of flowers placed with love by wedding guests before they were seated. The chuppah itself was rented from Afikomen, a Jewish store that offers couples many beautiful fabrics from which to choose.
Prior to the ceremony, the bride and groom spent some time alone together, then each went to meet with the friends and family; the bride spent some time with the women, and the groom with the men. During this “his and her” blessing ceremony, they heard personal stories and words of wisdom from their guests to prepare them for the commitment of marriage.
Rebecca and Greg also chose to create their own unique processional. Instead of having the bride walk the aisle to a waiting groom, each walked to the aisle escorted by their parents and they proceeded, as a couple, to the waiting altar. During the ceremony, Rebecca's mother and sister read a beautiful piece on feminism and marriage.
