In lieu of favors, Rebecca and Greg made a donation to the Human Rights Campaign in honor of their guests.
They also created a registry that would allow guests to make donations in honor of their wedding. Rebecca estimates that about 40% of the gifts they received were donations to organizations such as NOW, NRDC, and Oxfam.
In addition to the donations, the couple registered for alternative gifts. One such request was for a “hangable” piece of art stemming from their wedding vows. As Rebecca explains, “A good family friend, also an artist, offered to do this for us. We emailed her the vows ahead of time, and she created it for us for the wedding.” The result was this beautiful handmade keepsake.
