To avoid having to buy brand-new formalwear, the groom, his father, and the bride’s father wore the tuxedos that they already owned. As a thank you gift, the couple gave each of their fathers the silver ties they wore at the wedding.
The bride chose silver shoes instead of the traditional white so that she would be likely to wear them again. Most of Kate’s jewelry for the big day was pre-owned, including her borrowed earrings from her stepmother and the pearl necklace she received from her father for her 21st birthday.
