Real Green Weddings
The couple got married at the Philip Merrill Environmental Center which is the headquarters for the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. Not only does the venue provide a spectacular setting and incredible views of the Bay, but the Merrill Center is also known as one of the world’s greenest venues.
The ceremony took place on the beach overlooking the Chesapeake Bay. Since the setting provided enough beauty in and of itself, the couple chose to not waste flowers or extra ribbons in decorating the ceremony site.
The ceremony and reception were held in the same venue, allowing guests to just walk right up the pier to the reception. In choosing one venue, the couple helped to reduce their carbon footprint. The bride and groom also provided guests with shuttle vans from the hotel to the venue both before and after the wedding to encourage carpooling.
