The bride and groom wanted their wedding to be simple and comfortable, and the food that they served at the reception was a reflection of that wish. Kathy and Greg made up meat and cheese trays and fruit and veggie trays themselves and three of their friends contributed different salads as side dishes. For beverages, they served lemonade and water and did a champagne/sparkling cider toast.
Kathy and Greg's wedding cake was made by Something Delicious Bakery in Kent, Washington. The cake was champagne flavored and filled with Bavarian cream and fresh strawberries. To save costs and waste, they bought a round two tiered cake to display and cut, and a sheet cake to serve their guests. The couple served the cake with a knife and server they already owned.
