In an "effort to incorporate the many beautiful wedding traditions of the world," the bride and groom received mendhi (bridal henna) by henna artist Lisa Butterworth, who created a design to match the lace in Lily's dress. Lily is a Reiki practitioner, and wanted to bring "attention to the healing power of the hands." She also wanted "to incorporate the many beautiful wedding traditions from around the world." To this end she wore pieces of traditional Indian wedding jewelry, including a tikka, the pendant hanging over her brow, bindis over her eyebrows and fingernails, and a nose stud. Her wrist was adorned with a pearl rosary she brought back from Italy.
