Although the couple says they "started off on a bad foot because our wedding was in Italy, and the resulting carbon emissions were unfortunate,” they made the most of their trip. After the wedding celebration, they continued their honeymoon in Italy and Spain, using public transportation the entire time and continuing to enjoy local, regional food and drink. They also worked in a family trip to their niece's Christening while in Spain.
Looking back, Jordan and Katie are incredibly pleased with their wedding experience, which they refer to as a “patient process” of planning and decision-making. Both bride and groom “wish we had budgeted carbon credits for our guests, but feel we made smart, green, economical decisions that resulted in a wedding that was a unique experience for everyone involved.” Jordan and Katie describe their Italian wedding as “a dream come true,” thanks to their family and friends.
