Real Green Weddings
The couple decided against having red meat on their menu; instead, they offered their guests chicken and locally caught Mahi-mahi with fresh seasonal vegetables. Guests also enjoyed an abundance of freshly baked breads, made daily by the Brewing Station.
Ending on a sweet and simple note, they served a carrot cake topped with a hydrangea bouquet that was also used for decoration during the ceremony. A platter of cupcakes decorated with charming lavender violas accompanied the cake. The in-house chefs at the Brewing Station baked and decorated all the goodies, and presented them on plate stands that Jill and Ed brought from home.
Final Thoughts
Jill could not have been more pleased with the celebration. “Planning an outdoor wedding is the ultimate green dream for any eco-bride,” she says. “My advice is just do it! And maybe have a back-up plan in case the clouds roll in…” Luckily for this green bride, she didn't need one; the weather was perfect, and so was the couple's special day.
