Real Green Weddings
The bride said that one of her "main priorities was to use as many locally grown, organic ingredients as possible for the wedding feast." They went to Halifax Farmer's Market so that they could "connect directly with the farmers whose products [they] wanted to use." Their feast included whole roast lamb, pork and chicken souvlaki, sausage, salmon, mussels with garlic butter, grilled vegetables, polenta rounds, and five different salads. For dessert, they had carrot cake, Greek shortbread, butter tarts, and a chocolate fountain. Their wine and beer were also local, from Jost Winery and Garrison Brewery.
Anastasia and Scott cut an organic cake that had been handmade and decorated with dried pineapples by the bride.
