Lisa and Shawn went with a winter theme and reused Christmas decorations at the wedding. With help from friends, they made Christmas ornamens using non-toxic paints, which served as additional decorations and then were given out as ornaments afterward.
To cut down on the need for flowers, the couple asked friends and family to lend them their Christmas trees and poinsettia plants. The only flowers that were purchased were the bouquets and boutonnieres.
Shawn sculpted luminaries out of ice, and placed soy based candles inside. These gorgeous wintry lanterns were placed in the snow, lining the path to the barn and creating a magical effect along the path. The barn door was ornamented with two pairs of vintage cross-country skis that had belonged to Lisa and Shawn's grandfathers.
