Nathalie's dress was handmade by a San Francisco seamstress she found on Etsy, Amanda Archer, who used natural fiber fabrics on the custom creation. The bride sent her a photo of a designer dress that she loved, but that didn't fit in her budget. “She went to work recreating it and making it her own after I gave her my measurements. It turned out gorgeously!” Nathalie says.
A local crafter from Baltimore, also found on Etsy as Smitten, created the bride's chic birdcage veil and headpiece. Nathalie “was able to request a custom design for such a low price compared to what bridal stores wanted for such a tiny piece of fabric and a pre-made headpiece decoration.” The handmade, budget-friendly result was beautiful, and exactly what Nathalie wanted.
The bride also kept her beauty preparations for the wedding day eco-friendly. She enjoyed being pampered at Renew Organic Day Spa, which uses organic beauty products and filtered water, and boasts many other “green” features throughout the building. Her hair was done at Padma Salon, a full service eco-friendly salon near the couple's home, and her makeup was Monave Mineral Makeup, a green makeup line.
