Anna and Chris met in Los Angeles, introduced by a mutual friend. Chris had just gotten back from a solo trip to Paris, which, Anna admits, “made him ridiculously cool in my eyes.†They became friends and began dating after about a year. Chris proposed to Anna in Central Park on June 17, 2007. Her engagement ring was a stunning Art Deco emerald ring that Chris’s father had once bought for his mother.

Paula and Harlan Luxenburg were married at the Highland Lake Inn in North Carolina on June 1, 2008. The Highland Lake Inn is a member of the Green Hotel Association and features a wide variety of eco-friendly practices and services, including using locally grown organic food in their restaurant, from which the reception was catered, and biodegradable cleaners in their rooms.

Joann and Chris were married in Napa, California in September 2007.
Both Joann and Chris are designers (he is an industrial designer, and she is a graphic designer) and they met at a branding consultancy in Oakland. Joann describes her husband as "a down to earth, laid-back kind of guy from Australia" and herself as "a more intense, punctual city girl from Hong Kong."
Joann included many DIY elements in the event. "I always wanted to plan my own wedding, so we did not hire a wedding planner, and we were eager to do as much as possible ourselves."

How They Met
Meghan and Peter met in DC while working for a non-profit that helps indigenous peoples and environmental organizations. They dated for three years before getting engaged. As Meghan recalls, "Pete and I were both in Peru for work (we scheduled it to work out that way) and we took a quick vacation to Cusco and Machu Picchu. In Cusco, Pete took me to the place where his parents had lived when they were in Peace Corps there in the 60s. Then he proposed in the same building where his parents were married."
