Our Green Mission Statement
balance photography is completely committed to the preserving and protecting the environment. As photographers, we use digital cameras with recyclable batteries - some of which we recharge using solar power. We offer albums and prints made on recycled paper, hand-crafted artisan albums, as well and using the best of the traditional printer local to our area. Our home and studio is furnished entirely with antique or second-hand pieces and for our studio work, we stock only re-usable cloth backdrops, instead of single use paper backdrops. Workspaces in our office have large windows, reducing the need for lighting during work hours, and all office food waste is composted. Office paper is 100% recycled, and old CDs, DVDs and all containers are either recycled or reused. Back in the days of film, we even repurposed several hundred clear plastic film canisters - and made them into a light-up Christmas tree!

My husband and I are in love with our wedding photos by Rissa and Nathaniel! The photos were exactly what we wanted – natural and spontaneous, capturing true, unbridled emotion on everyone’s faces. The best part was having both of them there to capture the same moments from different perspectives and places. Pre-ceremony, Nathaniel followed the groom and Rissa followed me, so we now have a nice side-by-side album of what we were both doing at the exact same times. Read more >

I met Nathaniel when he photographed my best friend's wedding in which I was maid of honor. We spent several days on the English coast for a beautiful destination wedding and Nathaniel was snapping away the entire time. Not only does he have an a natural eye for photography, but he also has a knack for anticipating and capturing the best moments between people. He also has an incredibly fun energy and therefore brings out the best in people. Read more >
